April Symposiums at the Eric Sloane Museum

The Eric Sloane Museum invites you to join our Sloane Symposium Saturdays, a virtual web series designed to discover, discuss, and better understand the many aspects that make up the life and legacy of Eric Sloane.

The upcoming April series will comprise three separate sessions examining the art and illustration of Eric Sloane. Each Saturday session will feature a different topic regarding Sloane the Artist with presentations by experts in their fields. The program will be held virtually, and registration is free; however, donations are highly encouraged as we endeavor to further our interpretive programs and signage throughout the museum. April 10th, 2021 @ 11:00 a.m. – Eric Sloane, the Illustrator, Visual Storyteller with, Stephanie Plunkett, Deputy Director/Chief Curator at the Norman Rockwell Museum. Join us as we discuss Sloane’s role as an illustrator and storyteller during the golden age of illustration.

April 17th, 2021 @ 11:00 a.m.- Eric Sloane, Painting Memories with Eric Forstmann, award winning artist. Join us as we explore the artwork, process and work of Eric Sloane through the eyes of a painter. Mr. Forstmann shares a few personal experiences with Eric Sloane in 1970’s Warren CT.

April 24th, 2021 @ 11:00 a.m.- Eric Sloane, Head in the Clouds, with Carolyn Russo, Curator of Art at the National Air and Space Museum, Join us as we discuss the Cloudscapes of Eric Sloane as well as the Sloane works within the Air and Space Museum collection with some exciting recent discoveries.
